Its been a little while, but I came across the hugely talented Billy Machin's concept for his "skittles gun series" (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/RRWOD) and decided to try and get back into hand painting with a low poly variant of his GD-02 pistol. While initially I wanted to carry on with a PBR workflow, I wasn't happy with my poly density and topology with such a complex model, so after some tinkering, this was perfect time to see how Marmoset does with unlit environments, hence hand painted. Sitting at 1,835 polygons with a 1024x1024 texture, I'm pretty happy with how this came out, even with the simplified elements! With a bit more time, I might see if i can produce more of these since they're a nice change of pace.
